Sir Thomas Graham Jackson (8135-1924) published this collection of ghost stories in 1919, after a successful career as an architect and a life of extensive travel in Britian and in Europe. He lived for serveral years in Eagle House, Wimbledon, the Red House of the sixth of these stories.
In 1903 Jackson became a founding member of The John Evelyn Club, which changed its name in 1982 to The Wimbledon Society. It is because of this local connection that the Wimbledon Society Museum Press has published this edition - the first ever in paperback - with a new forward by the renowned fantasy and science-fiction writer, John Grant.
